Sūrahs to learn
The short sūrahs most people learn first. Each page has the Arabic, how to say it, and what it means, with a link to hear it recited.
- سُورَةُ ٱلْفَاتِحَةِ al-Fātiḥah The Opening. Sūrah 1, 7 āyāt. The opening sūrah of the Qurʾān, recited in every rakʿah of every prayer.
- سُورَةُ الإِخۡلَاصِ al-Ikhlāṣ Sincerity (pure devotion to Allah). Sūrah 112, 4 āyāt. Four short āyāt on who Allah is; the Prophet ﷺ said it equals a third of the Qurʾān.
- سُورَةُ الفَلَقِ al-Falaq The Daybreak. Sūrah 113, 5 āyāt. The first of the two sūrahs of seeking refuge with Allah from harm.
- سُورَةُ النَّاسِ al-Nās People. Sūrah 114, 6 āyāt. The second sūrah of seeking refuge, and the last sūrah of the Qurʾān.
